UK base receives another Etihad service
Etihad Airlines has announced it will expand services in October to the UK and add a third daily flight from its Abu Dhabi home base to London’s Heathrow airport.
The total number of Etihad flights at Heathrow will now increase from 17 to 21 services a week and the airline also has a daily rotation to its only other UK destination, Manchester.
Figures released by the airline highlight the increasing demand for flights between the UAE and the UK. During the last 12 months more than 306,000 passengers have travelled on the Heathrow service and a further 146,000 have travelled on the Manchester flight.
“It is great news that Etihad will shortly operate a third daily flight between Abu Dhabi and London Heathrow, the world’s busiest international airport,” said Etihad Airways executive vice president Geert Boven.
“By adding these new flights to our growing route we are able to offer a simpler, more convenient travel experience for the flying public.”
Heathrow has been one of Etihad’s stalwart airports with the carrier beginning services in March 2004.
