Hotel lets crews rest easy

 

Improved noise insulation and black out curtains in rooms

 

 

Crowne Plaza Birmingham City Centre which is currently going though a £16m ($31.6) refurbishment programme is to cater for aircrews on stopovers in the city by setting aside 30 bedrooms that have improved noise insulation and black out curtains.

 

Bedrooms dedicated to airline staff will be accessible to airline and hotel staff only, giving them opportunity to rest at any time of the day or night with the assurance that their sleep will not be disturbed.

 

The property will also offer additional storage space in bedrooms to accommodate pilots’ cases and luggage, while a special menu will be available to flight crews in the restaurant.

 

Bedrooms will feature high-speed internet access and crew can also benefit from the Club lounge.

 

“As Birmingham Airport expands and with the proposed runway extension expecting to attract more long-haul flights, the need for pilots and flight attendants to rest in the city will increase,” said Crowne Plaza Birmingham City Centre general manager Michael Mason.

 

Crowne Plaza Birmingham City Centre at Central Square is operated by Liverpool based developer Centre Island.
